Bali Kratom is one of the most popular strains and is recognized by the rich green of its leaves.

What is interesting to note about Bali, is that in actuality, there is not a lot of Kratom grown in that region. The name seems to be derived from the fact that Bali is a major port area. Early on, it is surmised that if it came this general area, then it was all called Bali Kratom.

The characteristics of these plants can be found in many strains throughout the region. It is known for growing fast, therefore making it a favorite for growers. This quick growth also promotes a thick cell wall, making it a cost effective solution for growers.

Bali is an island in Indonesia, located eight degrees just south of the equator, and does not experience much of an annual range in temperature. The region has two seasonal periods, wet and dry. The wet season of Bali starts in December and ends in April and humidity averages at 85%.

Throughout the rainy season when the heat is at its peak, the rain brings in a cooling effect with increased humidity. It consists of daily downpours with April being the hottest month. During the rainy season Kratom growth is rapid and plentiful. Kratom is preferably grown in wet, rich soils and swampy areas. Bali Kratom trees are sensitive to drought, and without the rainfall, the leaves will not be rich in phytochemical compounds. As a side note, Kratom can be sensitive to frost if not grown in its natural habitat.
